Housing project in Brussels

This housing project works with the idea of growing food as both a unifying and visual connector. The building has three different zones of greenery. The first one is a darker zone on the public ground floor that gradually becomes lighter on its way up the main staircase to the second zone, the sunny public rooftop greenhouse. The third category of green zone are the private greenhouses/
wintergardens that are placed in all of the apartments.

The apartments have both a visual connection to the greenery on the outside of the building as well as the living green wall of the staircase in the centre of the building. The ground floor also has a public program with a cafe and a colonial shop where the residents of the building can sell the fruits, vegetables and herbs they grow in the building.
